Visited Dear Sugathakumari teacher after a long time, on her 80th birthday, spent few hours with teacher at her house. Though January 22 is her birthday, as per the Hindu tradition they celebrated on February 5 on her birth star, ‘Aswathy.’

❝ദൈവമാതാവിൻ്റെ വാങ്ങിപ്പ് പെരുന്നാൾ.❞ ⚫ Shunoyo d’Yoldath Aloho ⚫ ദൈവമാതാവിൻ്റെ വാങ്ങിപ്പ് പെരുന്നാളും, അതിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന അഞ്ചുദിവസത്തെ നോമ്പും പരി.സുറിയാനി സഭയിൽ വളരെ ഭക്ത്യാദരപൂർവ്വം കൊണ്ടാടപ്പെടുന്നവയാണ്. പരി. സഭയുടെ ക്രമീകരണപ്രകാരം ആണ്ടടക്കമുള്ള മോറാനായ പെരുന്നാൾ പട്ടികയിൽ, രണ്ടാം തരത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതും മോറാനായ പെരുന്നാളുകളുടെ കൂടെ കണക്കിടേണ്ടതും ആയ പെരുന്നാളാണ് ശൂനോയോ. ശൂനോയോ എന്ന പദത്തിന് വാങ്ങിപ്പ്, നീക്കപ്പെടുക, എടുത്തു മാറ്റപ്പെടുക എന്നൊക്കെയാണ് അർത്ഥം. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷയിൽ ഈ പെരുന്നാൾ പൊതുവേ രണ്ട് പേരുകളിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട് Assumption & Dormition. ഈ പദങ്ങൾ കത്തോലിക്ക ഓർത്തോഡോക്സ് വിഭാഗങ്ങൾ യഥാക്രമം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
